Sugar 2 cups
Light corn syrup 1 cup
Butter 1 cup
Water 1/2 cup
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 1 tsp.
Peanuts, unsalted, raw 1 cup
Pepitas, unsalted 1 cup
Baking soda 1/2 tsp.


  1. Using a 3-qts. saucepan, cook sugar, corn syrup, butter and water, stirring constantly until candy thermometer registers 275°F, soft crack stage, approximately 20 minutes.
  2. Add TABASCO® Sauce, peanuts and pepitas and continue cooking, stirring occasionally until candy thermometer reaches 290°F hard crack stage.
  3. Stir in baking soda.
  4. Pour mixture onto greased cookie sheet. Cool and break into pieces.

Yield: 2 pounds
