HOT!!! CANDY APPLES

Ingredients Weight Measure
Candy apple package mix 5 oz.
Water 1 cup
Sugar 2-1/2 cups
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 1 Tbsp.
Apples, medium 12 ea.
Popsicle sticks 12 ea.
Cinnamon red-hot candies 3/4 cup

Method

  1. Mix the candy apple package mix with water, sugar and Original TABASCO® Pepper Sauce in small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and then continue cooking over medium high heat; no stirring is necessary. Cook the syrup until it reaches the "hard crack" stage at 290°F. This can take 15-20 minutes.
  3. While making the syrup, clean and dry apples and then insert sticks into the stem ends; grease or cover a baking sheet with plastic wrap.
  4. When syrup is ready, remove pan from heat and dip apples. Immediately roll each dipped apple in approximately 1 Tbsp. of cinnamon candies.
  5. Set apples on baking sheet in a cool dry place. Do not refrigerate.

Yield: 12 apples
