GARDEN GRITS WITH CHIPOTLE PEPPER SAUCE

Ingredients Weight Measure
Butter, clarified 4 Tbsp.
Green peppers, minced 6 oz.
Onions, minced 9 oz.
Mushrooms, washed, drained, diced 6 oz.
TABASCO® brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce 1 Tbsp.
Salt 2 tsp.
Water 5 cups
Grits 1 cup

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, heat butter. Add peppers, onions and mushrooms. Sauté 2-3 minutes. Add TABASCO® Chipotle Pepper Sauce and salt. Sauté 2 minutes.
  2. When done, add remaining ingredients. Stir well. Allow to boil; then lower heat to medium. Simmer, stirring frequently. Cook 15-20 minutes until thickened. Serve immediately.

Yield: 6-8 servings
