JALAPEÑO ONION CHEESE DIP WITH TOASTED PITA BREAD

Onion Cheese Dip

Ingredients Weight Measure
Olive oil 2 Tbsp.
Garlic, minced 1 Tbsp.
Onions, diced fine 2 cups
Cream cheese, softened 8 oz.
Sour cream 3/4 cup
Beef base 2 tsp.
Red bell pepper, diced 1 tsp.
Jalapeño pepper, minced 1-1/2 tsp.
TABASCO® brand Green Jalapeño Pepper Sauce 3 Tbsp.

Pita Bread

Pita bread, 6" 6 ea.
Vegetable oil spray as needed

Method

  1. To prepare the Onion Cheese Dip, heat oil in sauté pan and sauté garlic and onions until medium golden brown. Place in bowl to cool.
  2. Combine softened cream cheese, sour cream and beef base with onion-garlic mixture and mix well.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, mix well and allow to sit refrigerated overnight.
  4. To prepare the Pita Bread, spray both sides well with the vegetable oil spray and cut into 8 wedges. Place on a sheet pan and bake at 400°F for 15 minutes. Cool and serve with dip.

Yield: 3 cups dip, 48 pita wedges
