CHEESE AND TABASCO® BREAD-AND-BUTTER PUDDING

Ingredients Weight Measure
White or wheat bread with butter spread on 10 slices
Cheddar cheese, grated 24 oz.
Eggs, beaten 16 ea.
Milk 42 oz.
Vegetable stock 42 oz.
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 2 Tbsp.
Tomatoes, diced 24 oz.
Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Grease large casserole dish with butter.
  2. Remove the crusts from the bread and cut bread in half diagonally.
  3. Arrange neatly in layers in the dish, sprinkling the cheese on top of the dish when completed.
  4. Mix the beaten eggs with the milk, stock and TABASCO® Sauce. Season the mixture and strain carefully over the top of the bread in the dish.
  5. Cook slowly in the oven on a low temp until the mixture has set.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and diced tomatoes on top and brown under a grill.
  7. Serve with a side salad.
