HABANERO BRAISED BEEF WITH BEETS, POTATOES AND CABBAGE

Ingredients Weight Measure
Beef brisket 8 lbs.
Salt & pepper to taste
Canola oil 1/4 cup
Flour 2 cups
Brown sauce 2 qts.
Beets, fresh, peeled and quartered 2 lbs.
Pearl onions 8 oz.
White potatoes, peeled and quartered 2 lbs.
Napa cabbage, diced 1 ea.
Red wine vinegar 1/4 cup
Tomato paste 6 oz.
TABASCO® brand Habanero Sauce 1 Tbsp.
Sugar 2 Tbsp.

Method

  1. Dry meat with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper. Heat heavy braising pan with oil until the oil is smoking hot.
  2. Add meat to pan and brown thoroughly.
  3. Add other ingredients and simmer for 2-3 hours or until beef is fork tender.
  4. Adjust seasonings and serve with crusty bread.
