GREEN CHILI BURGER, PEPPER BACON, SMASHED BLACK BEANS & FRIED EGG

TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 2 oz.
Brown sugar 1/2 cup
Thick-cut bacon 8 slices
Black beans 1 can
Onion, chopped 1 ea.
Cilantro, chopped 1/2 bunch
TABASCO® brand Green Jalapeño Pepper Sauce 3 oz.
Cheddar cheese, shredded 2 oz.
Brioche bun 4 ea.
Frozen thick-cut (1/2- to 3/4-inch-wide) fritter-coated onion rings, uncooked 4 ea.
Green chilies 1 cup
Burger patties, 6 oz. each 4 ea.
Whole eggs, cooked sunny-side up 4 ea.

Method

  1. Combine TABASCO® Original Red Sauce with brown sugar.
  2. Lay raw, thick-cut bacon on a sheet pan; coat in brown sugar mixture and bake in a 350ºF oven.
  3. In a bowl, combine black beans, onions, cilantro and TABASCO® Green Sauce. Using a stick blender, smash all ingredients together, then fold in cheese.
  4. Place bean mixture into a small pot and warm until cheese melts.
  5. Toast brioche buns and fry onion rings.
  6. In a small pot, warm the green chilies.
  7. Grill or griddle burgers until cooked to desired temperature.
  8. To assemble each burger, place an onion ring on the bottom of a bun, fill the center with the warmed black bean mixture, lay a burger over top, place 2 Tbsp. green chilies onto that, place 2 strips of the bacon over the green chilies, and lay a sunny-side-up egg over the bacon. Cover with top of bun.
