Ingredients Weight Measure
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Light molasses 1 cup
Milk 3/4 cup
Sugar 1/2 cup
Butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 1 Tbsp.
Ginger, ground 1-1/2 tsp.
Cinnamon, ground 1 tsp.
Baking soda 1 tsp.
Egg, large 1 ea.
Confectioners' sugar as needed


  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Grease and flour a 9"x 9" baking pan. In a large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat flour, molasses, milk, sugar, butter, TABASCO® Sauce, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and egg until well blended and smooth. Increase speed to medium; beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
  3. Pour batter into pan, bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Sprinkle top of gingerbread with confectioners' sugar.
