Ingredients Weight Measure
Brown sugar, packed 3 cups
Cinnamon, ground 2 tsp.
Water 3 cups
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 3 Tbsp.
French bread, cut in 1/2" cubes 2-1/2 qt.
Raisins** 3 cups
Black walnuts, chopped 3 cups
Cheddar cheese, diced 2 cups
Margarine 2-2/3 Tbsp.
Whipped cream optional


  1. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, TABASCO® Sauce and water in pan. Boil gently until sugar is dissolved. Pour the hot syrup over the bread cubes and toss gently.
  2. Add the raisins, walnuts and cheese to bread cubes and toss again to blend. Spoon mixture into 4" half hotel pan, greased with margarine.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Yield: 24 servings

**Use any color raisins or currants instead of raisins if desired.
