MARINATED STRAWBERRIES WITH WHIPPED CREAM TAQUITOS

Taquitos

Wonton wrappers 1 package

Marinated Strawberries

Strawberries, washed, stemmed, quartered 1/2 flat
Sugar 1/2 cup
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 3 Tbsp.

Whipped Cream

Heavy cream 3 cups
Powdered sugar 1 cup
Vanilla extract 1 Tbsp.

Method

  1. Heat oil in fryer to 350°F.
  2. To make Taquitos, fry wontons in hot oil using a taco basket in the shape of miniature tacos (taquitos). Let dry on paper towel. Place in airtight container. Can be made in advance.
  3. Place all Marinated Strawberry ingredients into a large stainless steel bowl and toss until covered with sugar and TABASCO® Sauce. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, but not more than 4 hours.
  4. Place all Whipped Cream ingredients in a mixer. Using the whip attachment, beat on high speed until stiff peaks are formed; then place in pastry bag with star tip.
  5. Place a generous amount of marinated strawberries on the bottom of the plate. Fill a taquito with 1/4 cup whipped cream and place on top of strawberries. Serve.

Yield: 12 servings

Optional Garnishes: Powdered sugar, candied nuts and mint tip.
