STEAMED MUSSELS WITH BASIL OIL, TABASCO® BRAND CHIPOTLE PEPPER SAUCE AND TOMATO SAUCE

Ingredients Weight Measure
Lemon, halved 1 ea.
Clam juice 1 cup
White wine 1/2 cup
Onions, diced 2 Tbsp.
Garlic, minced 1 Tbsp.
Mussels, cleaned 24 ea.
Basil oil as needed
TABASCO® brand Chipotle Pepper Sauce as needed
Tomato sauce, warm 1 tsp.

Method

  1. In steaming pot, squeeze juice from lemon halves and place in halves along with clam juice, white wine, onions and garlic; bring to simmer.
  2. Loosely arrange the mussels in the steaming basket, allowing for room for mussels to open.
  3. Cover pot and steam on high for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Remove mussels and split in half; arrange the half with meat on a platter.
  5. Drizzle with basil oil, TABASCO® Chipotle Pepper Sauce and finish with teaspoon of warm tomato sauce.
