Vegetable oil as needed
Ground beef, lean 3/4 lbs.
Salt and pepper as needed
Onion, minced 2 Tbsp.
Garlic, minced 1 Tbsp.
Ketchup 2 Tbsp.
TABASCO® brand Original Red Sauce 1/2 cup
Salsa, prepared 1/2 cup
Southwest seasoning as needed
Sandwich rolls 12 ea.
Nacho chips, crumbled 3/4 cup
Monterey Jack cheese, sandwich cut 12 ea.


  1. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil until smoking. Add ground beef and cook while stirring for 3-5 minutes. Liberally season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add onions and cook for 2 minutes; then add garlic and cook for 1 minute while stirring. Add ketchup, TABASCO® Sauce and salsa and cook for 3-5 minutes or until meat is cooked through and mixture is not runny but still moist. Adjust final seasoning with salt and pepper and Southwest seasoning. Remove from skillet and hold warm.
  3. For each sandwich, place 6 oz. meat on the bottom of half of 1 sandwich roll. Top with 1 Tbsp. crumbled nacho chips, 1 slice of Monterey Jack cheese and the top of the roll.

Yield: 12 sandwiches
